Last month I received my offer letter and I started my internship at Wonder Youth Community (WYC) as a marketing intern it has been a great journey so far. In the past couple of months, quite a few kids have reached out, either seeking an internship or even worse, a piece of advice. First thing I usually do is laugh. But then, their enthusiasm makes you talk. And think. So, while I don't know much about the 101 ways of climbing the corporate ladder, here are a few things that I think might help make the journey fun. Have you been getting ads on social media about an internship from an organisation called International MUN (IMUN)? Well, do not endorse it. It is a scam. "But how are you so sure about that?" you might ask. Let me tell you something. I have been getting ads about IMUN for weeks now. They claim to give you Free Internship with certificate, letter of recommendation and potential pay for your work. I got intrigued by this and thought about signing up. But before that I decided to do my fair share of research. As it turns out, IMUN is a scam which uses aspiring students to promote their online conferences which cost around $9 per person. Now imagine you recommended this to 10 people and now IMUN has got $90 without doing anything. They might compensate you by giving you probably $2 for this (If they actually give it to you, that is). This act of using young minds for their narcissistic benefit is condemnable. They do give you a certificate but apparently it isn't useful at all.Here are some links to know more about this:1.
