The course will not develop your ear.You have to analyze and compare a large amount of audio to an even larger amount and develop the language required. Mixing is mainly about texture. You can set the levels first, or make everything satisfy your textural desires, then set levels, but you have to know what you want to hear before doing any of that. Most if not all the time, learning how to perceive the raw audio, understanding the frequency spectrum, and the tools, will lead you to the place you are feeling your way toward. There has to be a seamless connection between the mixing engineer and the workstation the same way a writer or performer needs to connect with a song for there to be any soul perceived in the product.

Mastering is the process of applying the final touches to the mixed audio, such as enhancing the loudness, clarity, consistency, and tonal balance across different platforms and devices. A mixing and mastering course will teach you how to use various tools and techniques to achieve professional-sounding audio.
