FINAL DEPOT OVERPASS DECK POURING TAKES PLACE TUESDAY(Richmond, IN)--Tuesday is another milestone in the construction of Richmond’s new Depot District overpass. Right now, crews are there conducting the final pour for the overpass’s deck. North E Street under the bridge was been shut down as part of the process Tuesday morning, but it was scheduled to reopen by mid-morning. The overpass is scheduled to open to traffic in a couple of months, although the project won’t be totally complete until next year.

EDC TOUTS ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN CONTRACT DISCUSSIONS WITH CITY(Richmond, IN)--Richmond Common Council met last night. The city’s contract with the EDC is set to expire and be renewed. Valerie Shaffer with the EDC recapped that organization’s accomplishments since the current contract went into effect three and a half years ago. "16 businesses have worked directly with the EDC that resulted in $534 million in new investment, and that's in both real estate and machinery and equipment. That has also led to the creation of - or the pledge of the creation of - 445 new jobs and the retention of 366 existing jobs," Shaffer said. The contract was referred Monday night to the Finance Committee and will come back to Council at a later date.
